The Spirit of Caitlin Charitable Foundation
Our mission is to complete the life's work of Caitlin Elizabeth Wooten. Her
stated main goal in life was to fulfill Christianity's great commission; to
bring as many people as possible to Jesus Christ. This work will be accomplished through worldwide missions and evangelism in conjunction with established churches in Oklahoma and Texas. Caitlin's dream was to become a teacher. We will award scholarships to students who also dream of becoming an elementary school educator. The legal committee will work to ensure passage of "Caitlin's Law". to prevent violent offenders from being offered bail. ![]() The initial education scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of Ada High School who exemplifies Caitlin's love of little children and her spirit. This will be accomplished through each student's written submission. We will establish a panel of people to evaluate the submissions. The panel will include the executive board members, Van Wooten, Cindy Wooten. The panel will include 2 educators from the Ada Independent School district. These panel members will rotate on an annual basis and will be named at a later date. Enduring panel members will include Lisa Miceli and Tracy Sachs, who are Caitlin's aunts and are also elementary school teachers. The spiritual foundation's primary objective will be to fund and support worldwide Christian missions and evangelism in Caitlin's name. We will initially work with established Christian churches in Ada Oklahoma and North Texas. The enduring members of this committee will include the executive board members Van Wooten, Cindy Wooten. Other members will rotate on an annual basis and will be named at a later date. The legal committee will exist to enact a law in the state of Oklahoma to ensure that other families do not suffer at the hands of an individual who is out on bond for violent offenses, particularly kidnapping. Once Caitlin's Law is established in the state of Oklahoma we will work with other states to ensure that those states pass similar legislations. Our primary fundraising will be charitable donations from individuals and groups. We will continue this foundation until our work is completed. We will also establish a speaker's bureau to ensure that trained speakers are available for public forums such as church groups, businesses, legal symposia and schools. |
